CaLCE: Computer-aided Life Cycle Enabling

Consortium: VU, CWI, PinkRoccade, SIG
The CaLCE project investigates new methods and techniques for automated and flexible analyses of large software portfolios.

The CaLCE project researches new methods and techniques for automated and flexible analyses of large software portfolios. The project developed specific tools to incorporate these methods.

The Computer-aided Life Cycle Enabling project (CaLCE) strives to prolong the life cycle of legacy systems. Research is conducted on techniques for analysing and transforming software portfolios with flexible and reusable tooling, and is one of the core activities within this project.

The Software Improvement Group is one of the industrial partners working on this project. The other industrial partner is PinkRoccade. The VU Amsterdam and CWI are the academic partners. The project is partly funded by the Dutch government in the context of Technological Collaboration ("Technologische Samenwerking"). CaLCe was launched in 2004 and ran until August 2006.
