SAP Management Costs Study: you can participate again

June 23, 2011
Little is known about management costs and in particular the financial management of ERP systems. Organizations are struggling to get to grips with their ERP management costs. In 2010, KWD and SIG joined forces to research SAP management costs relating to ERP systems.

The next year of the study will kick off in September 2011, and new parties will be able to participate. Organizations that have taken part in the study so far are: Alliander, ASML, Belastingdienst, DSM, Essent, Gasunie, Ivent, KLM, Océ, Shell and TNT Post.

The study was started in 2005 in order to improve the efficiency of the management or- ganization and to provide guidance when it comes to assessing new ICT/SAP investments. By means of this study we are aiming to find an answer to the following questions:

  • Where will the management costs be?
  • How can the costs be affected, what accounts for them?
  • What is the cost level among participating organizations?
  • Is this expensive or inexpensive (comparability)?

The participants supply data themselves on the basis of predefined templates, thereby improving the reliability of the results. The study is being scientifically supervised by the Dutch Open University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
