Software architects are invited for an interactive workshop to discuss the energy consumption of their designs, organized by the Software Improvement Group (SIG) and Green IT Amsterdam.
The workshop will address the following questions: "Do you have any ideas how much energy is consumed by the software you are currently designing or building? Do you know how to measure that at all? What are typical causes of energy loss? What are examples of optimizations? Why is it a good idea to optimize on the software level?"
We do not have answers to (all of) those questions, but want to stimulate exchange among architects on this rather unfamiliar aspect of their systems and their experience dealing with it. For the full invitation, see here.
