SIG announces two Trusted Product Maintainability training courses

The Software Improvement Group (SIG) is proud to announce two special training offerings related to the SIG/TÜViT software product certification.

The past year, the SIG/TÜViT certificate for Trusted Product Maintainability has become a recognised standard in the market. Many organisations that would like to get and stay in control of their software portfolio and its development and maintenance costs have adopted the certificate as an extra mechanism to control the relationship with their software vendors. Many clients now request 'SIG four star systems' by default from their internal or external suppliers.

Of the various aspects that define software quality, the SIG/TÜViT standard enforces the one which is - in the long run - the biggest driver of Total Cost of Ownership; the maintainability of software. To help individuals deliver high quality systems, SIG now offers two separate training courses: 'How to develop maintainable software' and 'How to deliver maintainable software on time'. With two new training offerings SIG answers the demand from the market that follows the success of the SIG/TÜViT certificates.

The first training is targeted towards experienced software developers and architects and uncovers the details of developing highly maintainable software. The training unveils the SIG/TÜViT quality model and the knowledge and mind set required to deliver four and five star software systems.

The second training is aimed at project leads and managers that take responsibility for the delivery of custom software projects. Apart from the core concepts of the SIG/TÜViT quality at a higher level of abstraction, it teaches them to balance and actively manage not only time and scope, but also the quality of the solution.

Both courses consist of a variety of elements, such as knowledge transfer, exercises, class interaction and discussion. During the open classes, technology-agnostic cases will be used. In case of delivery for a specific company, the course material is tailored to the organisation's specific technology stack. To ensure effective knowledge transfer, classes consist of 15 people at most.
