CFO Day 2009 & SIG

21 April 2009
On 10 and 11 June 2009, CXO Media, publisher of Chief Financial Officer will be organising the 8th CFO Day: an annual international event aimed at CFOs, group controllers and financial executives. This year, SIG will be one of the partners of the CFO Day.

The overall theme for the CFO Day is ‘Leadership in Finance’.

On 11 June, SIG will be organising a round-table conference entitled ‘Software related costs and risks: how to get in control’. Many CFOs seem to be struggling with big corporate software systems. This relates to both investing in new systems and effective management of existing systems. This is remarkable because other corporate assets such as physical assets seem often more "in control". The management of software systems are often a challenge for the CFO, while the costs and also risks in complex software systems are often much greater than for other assets. Typical questions are: 'How can I prevent a large, unnecessary write off on strategic software projects?' And 'What is the relationship between risk management responsibilities of the CFO and the software portfolio?'

This workshop provides participants a basis for effective management of software assets by examining a practical case, paying attention to the underlying principles and exchange ideas with other participants.
