Joost Visser presented SIG's approach to measuring maintainability at the 6th International Conference on the Quality of Information and Communications Technology (QUATIC 2007), held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 13 and 14 September 2007.
Is his presentation, Dr. Visser explained how the ISO/IEC 9126 international standard for software product quality can be turned into a pragmatic quality measurement tool. The ISO/IEC 9126 standard provides a conceptual framework for communicating and thinking about quality by dissecting the general concept of quality into concrete sub-characteristics. However, in order to render them usable, these sub-characteristics must be mapped out clearly and coherently in source code measurements.
