The first edition of the ‘Ondernemingsverkiezing Noord-Holland’ was held during a gala evening on Tuesday 13 March.

The Software Improvement Group, put forward by the ABN AMRO Bank, was one of ten candidates nominated for this business award. After dinner and a fire display, five companies were selected by the jury to come up to the stage. The Software Improvement Group was among the final five nominees. The final five are very different companies.

Prof. R. Pieper added that the Software Improvement Group had succeeded in developing a piece of research from the National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI). There should be more examples of such developments. The Software Improvement Group is a role model for research. The Software Improvement Group facilitates the ‘know how transfer’ from research institutions (e.g. CWI) to the marketplace.

The audience had the final word in selecting the winner. Agriport A7 won the majority of the votes.
