Inaugural speech Arie van Deursen
At 3pm on 23 February, SIG co-founder Arie van Deursen will deliver his inaugural speech at the Delft University of Technology.
His speech is entitled 'The Software Paradox'.
Software development is a process of constant change. However, this constant change is not without consequences for the software itself: the changes slowly but surely undermine the structure of the systems. Consequently, it becomes increasingly difficult and thus more expensive to modify existing systems. This gives rise to the evolution paradox: evolution impedes evolution.
